Digital Information Technology Company based in Saudi Arabia Seeking to recruit   Technical Support for SQL Database Qty (1)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Level 2 Technical Support Specialist to join the team. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of hands-on experience in managing Microsoft SQL databases (DBA) and providing technical support for database-related issues.

This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal database performance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and providing second-level support to resolve advanced technical problems.

Technical Skills:

1.SQL Server Management:

• Advanced proficiency in SQL Server (SQL Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022).
• Extensive experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database management, querying, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in SQL Server replication, always-on availability groups, and clustering for high availability.

2.Database Performance Tuning & Optimization:

• Strong skills in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Knowledge of database performance monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Query Store).
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (e.g., slow queries, deadlocks, resource contention).

3.Backup and Recovery:

• In-depth experience with SQL Server backup and restore processes (full, differential, transaction log backups).
• Expertise in developing disaster recovery plans and point-in-time recovery procedures.
• Familiar with database snapshots, log shipping, and database mirroring.

4.Database Security & Compliance:

• Knowledge of SQL Server security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), permissions management, and encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted).
• Ability to implement and manage auditing, login auditing, and data masking.

5.Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:

• Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues related to connectivity, performance, deadlocks, and transaction logs.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving issues with SQL Server Agent jobs, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Proficient in SQL Server logs analysis, error message interpretation, and resolving server crashes or memory leaks.

6.Scripting & Automation:

• Advanced proficiency in T-SQL for writing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and complex queries.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation of database-related tasks (e.g., backups, performance monitoring).
• Experience with scheduled jobs and alerts for automation of maintenance tasks.

7.High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR):

• Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn (availability groups and failover clustering).
• Expertise in log shipping, mirroring, and replication for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of cloud-based HA/DR solutions (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.).

8.SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS):

• Experience in designing and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS.
• Knowledge of integrating data sources and performing complex data transformations.

9.Cloud Database Technologies:

• Familiarity with cloud-based database offerings like Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Experience in cloud migration strategies, including backup, restore, and database synchronization across on-premises and cloud platforms.

10. Version Management & Patching:

• Strong understanding of SQL Server patching and version upgrades (major, minor, cumulative updates).
• Experience in managing SQL Server patching schedules and ensuring minimal downtime during updates.

Soft Skills:

1.Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:

• Strong analytical skills for identifying root causes of issues and implementing long-term solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle high-priority incidents in a timely manner.

2.Customer Service & Communication:

• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in providing high-quality support to end-users, ensuring customer satisfaction.

3.Collaboration & Teamwork:

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers.
• Willingness to mentor and train junior team members.

4.Time Management & Prioritization:

• Ability to manage multiple incidents and tasks concurrently while ensuring deadlines are met.
• Proven track record of balancing multiple support requests with minimal supervision.

Tools & Technologies:

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and their database offerings.

Certifications (Preferred):

1.Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

2.Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator (MCSA)

3.Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (DA-100)

4.ITIL Foundation Certification (for incident and change management best practices)

5.Microsoft Certified: Solutions Expert (MCSE) for Data Management and Analytic
